SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Alice Newell 12-17-65
It is with a sad and heavy heart that I share with you my friend, my Sister in Christ, has gone on home to be with Jesus.
Alice and I met when becoming students at Olivet College, in Olivet, Michigan. Since we both were from Detroit, we became friends right away.
When we learned that we were both from Detroit, our friendship was instant. But even more than that, we learned that we both loved music. Especially Gospel music. We both could sing and I played the piano. And more importantly, we loved the Lord Jesus!
Now I could go on and on about my sisterhood with Alice but then I'd be talking probably til Jesus comes back!!! (And those of you who knew Alice would be laughing with me about this statement) She loved Jesus and was definitely not ashamed who knew it!!!
Alice was well loved. She loved her family, Daughters, Robin and Chloe. Her grandsons, Edmund and Moses. Again Alice was well loved by so many. I'm inviting you who would like to share your memories, Please do so. I know her family would love the memories and support from us.
As for me, I'm saying Thank you Heavenly Father for allowing our paths to cross.
She was a great inspiration to me. Thank you. And Alice? I will see you later (no goodbyes here) Ill see you later. And I'm expecting you to be holding down the Alto section in the Heavenly Choir when I get there. Love you, Shalom.
All expressions of Love can be added toward the end of Alice's post.
Life Is Good!
By Alice(theRose)Newell
In today's society, folks are concerned about so many external things.
How to pay their bills? The desire of increase in funds for a stable
lifestyle. A job, diseases, transportation, school, health, an avalanche of
other stuff. Concentration on these issues distract people's focus from what really matters. Also, it seems like negative thinking and drama is the new norm.
However, "life is just a bowl of pits", and, "life is a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get." (Thank you, Rodney Dangerfield and Forest Gump, for those insightful words.)
Why worry when there's a Masterful Plan working towards your
existence? Jeremiah 29:11 says " For I know the thoughts I think toward you..."
says the Lord. "Thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected
end". It's okay to make plans, but if they paralyze someone from moving
forward, then it stagnates you into the torment of fear. Faith, on the other
hand, doesn't function that way. It super charges you to keep things moving
forward no matter what you encounter (Hebrews 11:1). Trust God for each
step of advancement.
Life is a big class of lessons. We must pay close attention to the
details in order to learn them (Psalms 34:8). Each experience we encounter
produces the groundwork for which we were born. Every challenge chisels
away excess debris of our growth potential, leaving good soil for
productivity.
" Take no thought for your life..."Matt. 6:25--33. This scripture does not
mean to walk around like a mindless cartoon character, but to drop the
chains of fear and worry. All that you need will be provided to live a good
life. ( Phil. 4:13)
We are processed through life for a greater, unknown purpose. From the
initial point of creation, God called you, yes, you, good. Then He blessed
you. Then He broke the mold; for He knew His plan for you is failure proof.
( Gen. Chs. 1&2)
We're reminded by the Apostle Paul "that all things work together for the
good..." Romans 8:28. A heavenly, good God called His creation "good" and
all things work together for our "good". Now that's "GOOD NEWS"! You don't have
to take my word for it; try Him for yourself. "O, taste and see that He is
GOOD." ( Psalms 34:8 )
Remember, you're Blessed, Loved and Important!
Sincerely, AlicetheRose
