God doesn't Social Distance!

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved". John 3:16-17 (KJV)

What is Social Distancing?

Social distancing, also called "physical distancing", is the keeping of a safe distance between you and those who are not of your own household. This distance is at least six feet (at least two arms' length) between you and others who are not from your household.

Today, we are very well familiar with this practice, whether we like it or not. It is something we ALL have to do to protect ourselves and others. This practice has led to so much anxiety and depression. This pandemic is a worldwide crisis.

When I think about it, I'm so glad that God did not practice social distancing! Before the moment that man became infected with the sickness of sin, God had already decided that He would NOT protect Himself nor His Son. In fact, God sent His only Son, Jesus, to become a man and actually experience this sickness we know called "sin". For the sickness of sin had separated man from God.

It is because of this experience that today we are able to have eternal life. God didn't wait until man was "good enough", or "rich enough" or "smart enough". God didn't wait for man to come to Him, but instead He came to man!

It's a comforting thing to know that God doesn't practice social distancing. For if He did, we would not be alive today! God will come to YOU. He'll get right in your mix; right in your situation. Whatever the infection of sin is in your life, God is not afraid to experience it with you. Be it chronic sickness, disease, addiction, whatever. He's that kind of a God!

While others play it safe and avoid contact with you, God has given His promise that "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Deut. 31:6).

So take courage my friend. God sees the conditions of this world. God sees the conditions of YOUR world. But be encouraged and know that "GOD DOESN'T SOCIAL DISTANCE!".
