There is sooo much happening in the world today. Sicknesses, diseases, hunger, crime, death.....it can easily get overwhelming. Many have suffered losses such as loved ones, homes, jobs & businesses, and the like. Such losses can bring on grief.
So what is grief, really? According to the American Psychological Association, grief is defined as the anguish experienced after significant loss, usually the death of a beloved person. Now there are different expressions of grief. Among them are guilt, remorse and shame. There's also loneliness, anger and denial. Also, melancholy, crying, sadness and depression. All various forms of grief.
With so many dark feelings, it's easy to overlook the fact that there can STILL be HOPE in such times. Hope keeps you going. Hope keeps you moving. Hope keeps you smiling regardless. Hope is Jesus.
The infamous phrase by Rev Jesse Jackson is "keep hope alive". So true and very much needed. Keep hope alive. In fact, keep hope in Jesus alive! It's in Jesus that we can keep moving forward. Keep growing stronger. Just wanna tell you that in spite of everything that's going on today, you can have hope. There is hope in Jesus. There is hope in grief.
